We are here~

Hello everyone. We arrived safely on Saturday morning.
We spent the day in Bratislava with our IMB friends mostly just trying to stay awake. After a good night
of sleep, we were up early to sing at the Baptist church there. We sang about six songs and Gilbert preached. The church there sang some hymns and choruses that we know,so we sang along in English. In the afternoon we drove to Klenovec which was about four hours away. Most of the kids took a well deserved nap so that we arrived refreshed to have dinner and meet our host families. How exciting for them to stay in the homes of the Slovakian people. Our particular home did not speak a lot of English, so we did a lot of sign language....
This is just day one of being in the schools and I coud not be prouder.Your studnets are doing an outstanding job~
They are teaching English classes, allowing the students here an opportunity to use their conversational English skills.
Later today we will give a concert outside and have been asked to share a testimony.
In the evening, we will have dinner and spend some more time with some of the students here at the school.
I will post pictures as soon as I can.
Phone access is very, very limited but Gini in the music office should have the cell number by now if you need to speak with me. I will hopefully be able to get the kids to an internet cafe in the next day or two so that they can all email you.
Please continue to pray. It is amazing....beautiful country and beautiful and gracious people. You would be very proud.God is good.My prayer is that none of us would ever be the same again.

    Hi Everyone,
Jimmy Goolsby and I are staying tonight in a nationals home that was offered to us. The family consists of a husband, wife, and 8th grade son. The husband is an IT teacher at the school we will be at tomorrow. The home is in Klenovec, Slovakia. We were offered access to the internet, and we will give you a breif summary of what we have done so far...
All of us are fine and healthy. We toured the capital city Brotislava yesterday. We were given the tour by Tom Holloway and his family, who is the host missionary. The city was very intersting in that it was very westernized and would remind us of a large city in America, but you could tell the economy here was still developing and has a way to go. Overall the city was beautiful, and the citizens were low key, and thier behavior makes the beauty that much more noticable. The younger generation between twenty and thirty looks and dresses identically to that of the typical American, and they seem to be just as ambitious. There is already a concern of them becoming materialistic which makes it hard for the missionaries here to share the gospel.
Today, we went to the missionary's home church, the name of which we are not certain. The group sang four or five pieces, and Mr. Fields spoke with a translator. In addition, their praise team sang songs of worship in Slovak, and prayed and read scriptures in Slovak as well. Their praise team sang songs that we are all very familiar with in tune, such as Agnus Dei. They did an excellent job. We had to be careful singing in English using the word holy because translated to Slovak it means naked. The word for holy in Slovak was Svaty, which is pronounced sweaty. This lasted an hour before we had any part in leading the service. The average Sunday morning worship service lasts two hours. We went to lunch which was delicious, traveled 4.5 hours to our current location, and had dinner. Afterwards we were divided into our homes.
This brings you to date on our trip. We may have access again tomorrow night since we should be staying in the same home, if so we may give you another update.
Tell all family and friends to check their personal emails because we and others may have internet access, but do not however have phone access. We aren't sure who has such internet access so those without messages shouldnt be concerned.

    Thanks,
    Trey and Jimmy
